 Dates:  July 28th through August 4th, 2007.

Where:  Falmouth, Jamaica, which is about 20 miles east of Montego Bay, on the north coast of Jamaica.

Projects:  Medical and Dental clinics, construction projects to be determined, help at the public school, orphanage, and residence for girls that have been removed from their homes, and other areas of opportunity that may develop.

Cost:  $350 plus the cost of the airline ticket.  (total cost will probably be around $850.00)

Team capacity:  We have beds for 24 people at our hostel, but have been able to                                accommodate more on occasion.

We will need a deposit of $600 to confirm your placement with the team.  That enables us to purchase the airline tickets immediately when there is a special offer.    The exact dates and trip cost will be determined at the time will are able to buy the tickets.  We will keep you informed as we learn more ourselves.  Based on our past experiences, we ask that you take only one suitcase or box for your personal items.  We will need your other allotment for our supplies in order to avoid shipping charges.  Your box or suitcase must be limited to 70 pounds, and the dimensions have to be under 62 inches (height, weight, depth).  Obviously, your carry on will be important.  DO NOT BRING scissors, knives, tools, etc.  Those will need to be packed in your check through luggage.  If you are able to take everything in your carry-on, it would help us tremendously.  We will be sending another letter closer to departure that will be more current regarding luggage and the wishes of the airline.  Let us know if you are a Registered Nurse, Physician, or Dentist.   We will need to have you complete forms for a temporary license.  A passport is now REQUIRED for travel to the Caribbean.

We are all more aware of terrorists and their lack of respect for human life, plus their world wide existence.  However, we continue to feel safe in Jamaica.  Falmouth is not a major tourist center, and the local community is like family to us.  We are placing our trust in God, and will continue to serve this area.  But we also will have expectations of all team members to minimize any risk that might be present.  If these expectations do not match yours, then maybe this mission project is not for you.  Below is a list of some of those expectations:

** You will be representing the church, and more specifically you will be a witness for Jesus Christ.  Your behavior will be closely observed by the Jamaicans.  We are going to work and serve.  We will see much of what Jamaica has to offer but our schedule will differ from the cruise ship tours.  Your attitude and actions should be reflective of the life that Christ taught us to live.  What Would Jesus Do?

**We expect team members to be at our hostel by 10:00 PM, and to be in bed by a reasonable hour.

**Alcohol use should be discreet and not at the church or hostel.  We do not discourage visits to the local eating establishments but we do discourage the use of alcohol as the focus of our visits.  Alcohol is as much of a problem to Jamaicans as it is to Americans, and we want the people to know that our focus is God, nothing else.

**Jamaicans do not think that smoking and Christianity are compatible.  We do not expect anyone to stop smoking for this trip, but as with alcohol, please be discreet.

**You will be part of a team.  It is exciting to hear of each other’s experiences, so we have daily sharing sessions after our evening meal.  Also, everyone shares in the daily chores to be done at the hostel.

**We will try to place you in a responsibility you wish to experience, and also expose you to several unique and exciting opportunities.
